This workshop gives you practical strategies to assess, diagnose, and manage ankle and foot injuries with confidence. You’ll refine your clinical testing, understand how to stage rehab progressions, and learn how to integrate load management, balance, and kinetic chain considerations into your treatments.

You’ll work through real-world cases — acute lateral sprains, lingering instability, and the athlete pushing to return too soon.

You’ll learn how to assess, load, and progress with clarity instead of guesswork.

Here’s what we’ll cover on the day:

  • A streamlined ankle assessment framework you can use Monday morning

    • Differentiate between joint, muscle, ligament, tendon, nerve, and instability

  • Red flags to be aware of, and how to clear them

  • Specificity in questions in relation to the athlete’s demands

  • Giving your client want they want, but also what they need - driving client buy-in and trust

  • Managing athletes that do too much, and the average joe who doesn’t do enough

  • Smarter early-stage loading - rest and bands won’t cut it

  • Building real strength in the lower limb; and the importance of the big toe

  • Progressing to hopping, cutting, and return-to-sport criteria

We’ll tackle common new grad mistakes — under-dosing load, over-relying on time frames, and clearing without objective testing.

You’ll leave with a clear framework, practical progressions, and the confidence to manage ankle injuries beyond “it’s just a sprain”.
