The Spinal Playbook

Neck and lower back pain are among the most common presentations in clinical practice — yet they’re often the most overcomplicated. For new graduate physiotherapists, it’s easy to feel uncertain when presentations don’t follow a clear pattern, or when symptoms persist despite treatment.

This workshop is designed to simplify spine rehabilitation into a clear, structured approach you can confidently apply in practice.

You’ll learn how to assess both cervical and lumbar presentations with clarity, identify key drivers of pain and dysfunction, and differentiate between mobility, control, and load-related impairments. Rather than relying on passive treatments or generic exercise prescription, we focus on building a strong clinical reasoning process that guides your decision-making.

The workshop will cover practical strategies to restore movement, improve neuromuscular control, and progressively load patients in a way that is both safe and effective. You’ll also learn how to adapt your approach across a range of presentations — from acute pain to more persistent conditions — and how to communicate your plan clearly to patients.

By the end of this workshop, you’ll have a repeatable framework for managing neck and lower back pain, allowing you to treat with greater confidence, reduce uncertainty, and deliver more consistent outcomes in your early clinical career.
